General Needs for My First Place Program (Alameda, Contra Costa, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Solano Counties)

  • School supplies: backpacks, binders, paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, highlighters, calculators, note cards, folders, expandos
  • Employment supplies: professional clothing (men & women) , resume paper, portfolio binders
  • Computers/laptops
  • Gift cards for household items and necessities (Target, WalMart, grocery stores)
  • Vacuum Cleaners, brooms, buckets and mops
  • Transportation: bus passes (county-specific), BART passes
  • Holiday items: Halloween candy, kids costumes (6 mos - 5 years old), Thanksgiving food basket items, toys, games, electronics and gift cards

Donate a Car

First Place has arranged a hassle-free way for you to donate your car, truck, boat, or RV. Simply download the form, complete, and fax to 510.272.9303, attention to Candy Calhoun.

First Place for Youth is a not-for-profit qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and has an established brokerage account to accept Depository Trust Company (DTC) transfers of securities. Our Federal Tax Identification Number (EIN) is 94-3341034.

Matching Gifts

Personal gifts to non-profits made by employees, retirees and their family members may be matched by businesses and corporations. You can increase the value of your gift by taking advantage of your company's matching gift program. Gift matching procedures vary from company to company so check with your human resources department or check this list to find out if your company offers this benefit.
