ILSP and First Foundation

First Place for Youth offers the San Francisco County and Solano County Independent Living Skills Program (ILSP) to eligible current and former foster youth ages 16 to 21.

Through ILSP, First Place provides a full range of services designed to assist and support emancipating foster care and probation-involved youth in their transition to independent living. Services include education and employment assistance, career development, family finding and permanency services, life skills workshops and community events.

First Foundation is an educational support program for sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school. Staff members provide these young people with one-on-one support designed to help them graduate from high school on time, and group workshops on educational and social skills development. The First Foundation program is offered in Alameda County, as well as through San Francisco and Solano County ILSP.
